Hamachi Kama - Where to buy?

Looking to buy Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail Cheek) from a store so that I can make some dishes at home. Anyone have a clue where to buy it from?

  1. I'd start with Coastal Seafoods.

    1. Given that Coastal Seafoods supplies many of the sushi restaurants around here with the rest of the hamachi, I'd give them a call first. You might find it elsewhere, but it almost undoubtedly will be older than what CS can procure.

Found it at Coastal Seafoods MPLS... sadly the St. Paul location doesn't carry it and it is down the street.

          For future reference:

Whatever comes in via the airport goes first to the Minneapolis location. If I don't see the item in St. Paul, I've found that it's worth asking the counter staff to check whether Minneapolis has any in stock.

I have also been able to phone/stop in to request an order for items from the Minneapolis location to be picked up in St. Paul.

I had never seen it at the STP location so never thought to look there again. Forgot that the MPLS location had different things. I never make it all the way over there, but I wanted to make a run to United Noodles as well and luckily for me there was one package in the freezer.

Thanks for the suggestion / information.
