Post Wedding Brunch - 20-25 People

  • 5

Fellow Chowhounds - can you help me out? I have done a fair amount of research on this board, and see several restaurants have turned over, so I am hopeful someone will take pity on me and help me create a short list of restaurants to call today. I learned this morning, that my sister's wedding coordinator hasn't nailed down a place to go post a Sunday am wedding for about 25 people (Yes, this Sunday the 13th). I need to take the stress off of her - and find a place.

The wedding is Sunday am, near the 5000 block of Collins Street, and I am looking for a reasonably priced venue (less than $30pp) that could accommodate this group for brunch/lunch and some cocktails somewhere starting at 11am or 12pm.

The group will be a bit challenging, because we have some people willing to try different food, and some that are a little less comfortable and will seek out the "known entities" for them. I need to make sure that there are some "normal" options for them, but also some interesting things for the rest of the group. I am looking for non-chain restaurants and am open to a lunch or brunch menu -- and it would be over the top if the view was great and not inside a dark club atmosphere.

Can anyone offer some good recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Try Lechon, Oolite, Sardinia, PB Steak, Barceloneta, and Lucali which might open their bar area for you.

    1. The Sat/Sun Dim Sum lunch deal at Hakkasan ($28) is hard to beat plus they have a private area that will work. 4441 Collins
