I'll be going to Central Market and can check there, but i would imagine both to be expensive if they even have them. Any ideas?
hmmmm for the nutmeg oil, i would suggest calling con'olios to see if they have any ideas.
is it preserved citron (peel) you need? try calling over to savory spice (next to con'olio in the arboretum) or penzey's.
had to google the difference with impastata:
if the people at antonelli's don't have it, or don't know where to find it, then i don't think it's in austin.

I'm trying to replicate the cannoli of my wife's youth. I've had the real deal in the NE, so I can't skimp on ingredients!
ricotta: possibly also mandola's?
never heard of nutmeg oil... should be interesting!
EDIT: google tells me there is a NOW brand, and the HEB PLUSs with a big naturals section carries many of these oils. i know the lakeline location has a slew.
i made a GF & low carb lemon ricotta cake this weekend. it was reminiscent of pastiera, which has cannoli-esque flavors.
never seen any GF cannolis but maybe some day someone with more patience and expertise than me can hit a grand slam.
