Where can I find fresh Chinese fishcake?

The only ones I find seem to be frozen from China or Vietnam, including the ones I saw at 99 Ranch. Does anyone know of a place that offers fresh local made, or any that hasn't been frozen?

  1. New May Wah on Clement and Sunset Super on Irving or Vicente have many kinds non-frozen.

      Thanks will check it out.

    2. Gum Kuo in Oakland Chinatown sells fresh cooked fish cake. It is part of their BBQ/deli offering and I believe it's made in house.

I am looking for the raw stuff to make stuffed bitter melon for my Mom. Not crazy bout the dish, but she misses eating it, so giving it a try. Wish me luck.

Alot of the markets in SF Chinatown sells minced fish in plastic tubs ...usually in the cold case, next to the eggs/wonton wrapper.
