Signs Restaurant and Bar

  • 4

Opening on July 16, 2014 at 558 Yonge, this should be an interesting concept just like O.Noir. Except that the servers aren't blind - they're deaf. People are encouraged to order by sign language (cheat sheets provided). Interesting concept. If you go, please share your thoughts and comments!

Still haven't made it yet- it's on my list just for the experience and to support this restaurant and servers, but there's a brief review of the food in the Star from today's paper: http://www.thestar.com/life/food_wine...

I enjoyed my meal at the beginning of August when it first opened. The breads are made in-house and came to the table still warm from the oven. The sweet potato biscuits were delicious. I had the duck breast and rosemary nuts. Neither were exceptionally outstanding, just really solid flavours and execution. The portions are very big. The service and interaction with the staff really made the meal a fun experience. Would definitely go back to support such a great initiative and get more of those sweet potato biscuits!

      2. I walk by here every day around 6 on my way home from work.. for the past week they have between 2-5 staff on the sidewalk handing out flyers and looking in the window I see only a handful of diners... Does not look good for them.
