  1. In between Westwood and Livingston I would estimate there are over 200 Italian restaurants. Pretty wide area.

      1. I would rate LuNello at the top of my list.

I'll add Savini's (Allendale), Aldo's (Wyckoff), and Arturo's (Midland Park).

Right in Westwood -- there are two I like -- Baci, although I haven't been there in a long time, and a small BYO, Granita Grill, and I haven't been there in a long time as well.

        1. La Riviera Gastronomia in Clifton. BYO, cash only and does not take reservations.

Bingo! We ate there with friends. It is very home made and the food is great. I like the storefront one. There is a more formal restaurant with the same name 500 feet away.

Yes I agree! I believe the formal one is called La Riviera Trattoria

Why have you all been hiding this place from us?!? :-)

Funny! Try it! It's charming and the food is great.

          2. We ate here with friends tonite. Cash only and BYOB. The food is very traditional Italian. No new ground is broken here. No molecular gastronomy. But the food is home made and terrific. The service is attentive. The decor is out of the 50s. But you will have great food with enough for lunch the next day and a most reasonable bill. Just don't hog our table (no reservations). Talking about La Riviera Gastronomia, Piaget Ave. , Clifton.
