I have to go to cottage grove. is there anything of interest there?

  1. Stockmen's Truckstop. Excellent American food and that distinguished truck stop vibe.

      I like stockman's but it is in south saint paul, is there one in cottage grove too?

    2. Nope. It's pretty much a chain restaurant wasteland punctuated by the very occasional family owned average at best Americanized Chinese restaurant or pizza joint. Not sure what direction you're coming from, but if you're getting there via Hwy 61 through Newport then your best bet is the deli/takeout portion of Tinucci's (note: I just looked at their website and they are closed 7/4 - 7/7). Otherwise, Culver's. Seriously.

      1. The last time something interesting happened in the Grove food scene was when there was a homicide outside of Jimmy Johns a few years ago. (With all respects to the families involved in the incident, not trying to be disrespectful of your loss)

        However, you have your choice of most major fast food chains. I don't think aside from Applebees with the family and Papa Murphys pizzas we ate out when we lived there, aside from random fast food cravings. I did always get a kick out of G'Will Liquors off of 80th and 61. Say it fast like the phrase,

        2. well, as expected, i found nothing in Cottage Grove. but the Park Cafe in Saint Paul Park was a pleasant surprise. a nice small town cafe. i just had breakfast but it has some lunch and dinner options too.
