Lunch or Dinner on the fly near Broadway and 38th?

My husband has a job interview this week at 38th and Broadway and he wants me to go with him. So, I thought we could have dinner then too while we're there before we go back to Philly. But my husband doesn't want to spend too much money. A typical meal for the two of us in NYC is $100 or more usually someplace nice like Union Square Cafe, Delmonico's Kitchen, Orso, or Bice. I wouldn't even mind a snack/appetizer in lieu of dinner but I do not want chain restaurants and I'm even going to say no to Shake Shack since we have two of those close to home now. Price point preference would be no more than $20 (entree or appetizer) for each of us before drinks, and before taxes. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If the weather is nice, try the Broadway Bites market at 33rd & Broadway.

If you decide you want a sit-down dinner at that price point, BCD Tofu House is on 32 St. between Broadway and 5th Av. (closer to 5th) and Larb Ubol is at 9th Av., between 36th and 37th. There's also Szechuan Gourmet, 39th between 5th and 6th: http://szechuan-gourmet.com/menu

I watched some world cup and ate at district tap house on 38th between 7th and 8th and it was pretty good with an amazing beer list. In your price point for sure. I think it could get crowded after work for happy hour but I don't know.

Went to District Tap House just after 7pm last night after the interview and it was a madhouse plus we did not have a reservation (highly suggest you do if you go) but we were still able to sit at a table within minutes. The hostess and doorman were great! Husband LOVED the beer list/selection. And we enjoyed the Beef Fat Fries and Zucchini Fries. Our bill with the beer, tax and tip was $30. Thanks for the suggestion foodyum! I definitely recommend this place to others!
