Tuckahoe area

I do not live in the are but friends do and recently had a baby. Wanted to send some food to them. Maybe trays or something of the sort. Any suggestions of good places to order from..

  1. only fairly familiar with the area ,but can't think of any places- but others may have ideas. Not sure exactly what you want, but perhaps a gift basket from zabars-nyc or Zingermans- Michigan might work- both are pricey and the shipping will add over a "local place".NYC would have many more options, but more of a food gift rather than a convenience of food. Congrats to them and hope you find something.

    1. Stew Leonard's in Yonkers (right near Tuckahoe) makes great fruit & food baskets - you can customize them too.

If you want to send dinner to them, Carlo's in Yonkers on Tuckahoe Rd. is a great for Italian.

+1 for Carlo's and Stew Leonards.

I'm not sure Carlo's will deliver, but the food is pretty good.

I think there are several food baskets at Stew's that are shipped for free.

      2. There's V Zuccarelli on Rt. 22 in Tuckahoe. Also Dobbs and Bishop in Bronxville for lovely upscale cheeses and other gourmet items.

Zuccarelli's is in Eastchester on rt 22/white plains road.

          1. Carlo's does indeed deliver, I believe there is a $2.oo delivery fee.
            In Tuckahoe there is
            Chinese, Foo Chow
Italian and Pizza: Angelina's, Roma, Mama Assunta, Villagiao's Pizzeria
            Kaji Sushi & Hibachi
            Burrito Poblano, Mexican
            Spice Village (Indian)
            Bistro Latino (Spanish)
            the Tap House
Tuck'd Away (very good burger and surprisingly good chocolate)

            Down the road in Crestwood
            the bagel loft
            An American Bistro
            Polpettina
            Stevens Green
Take a look at the websites see if anything interests you and come back so we can make more specific recommendations.
Very few places deliver so you really can and should consider Bronxville, North East Yonkers and Eastchester.
Also Elia Taverna would be my pick, delicious Greek food in Chester Heights/Bronxville they do deliver to Tuckahoe.

              Burrito Poblano des not deliver.

              1. re: roxlet

I attempted to address the delivery issue in my post....I guess I didn't do such a great job. I just wanted to get a sense of what the op was interested in and take it from there.

              2. re: chowdom

Chowdom, I would cross Angelina's off the list.

Wondering why you are adamant about this. I like their pizza.

                  1. re: roxlet

I've only eaten in their more formal restaurant dining room as opposed to the pizzeria, so I can't really comment on it. Sorry, I should have made that clear.

                    1. re: foodiemom10583

OK. I've never eaten in their formal dining room! :)

                        1. re: roxlet

It's my doctor's fault. ;) We asked for a lunch recommendation. He told us to go through the pizzeria, past the bar, and into the dining room to eat.

                          1. re: foodiemom10583

lol... IMO the ambiance is similar to that of a mausoleum.

                      1. re: foodiemom10583

I would cross a few more off the list I posted.I just wanted to get a sense of which menus the op was interested in then I would be comfortable making recommendations for places that deliver and that might be of interest to the op.

                    2. Maybe a delivery from Peapod would be good. Then you could include a variety of everything, even a pack of diapers!
