Has anyone seen Duke's Mayo in the Sacramento area?
Not in CA. It's a southern thing as far as I know. You can order off their site or Amazon though.
I did end up buying some from Amazon. I did find old posts about Cost Plus selling it in California, but that was a few years ago.
Just curious, how did Amazon ship Duke's in dry ice? I'd like to order some, but think I'd have to be home as I couldn't let it sit out...too hot here.
It's canned and shelf stable. Why would it need dry ice?
It's in a plastic jar. I'm in about 100 degree temp. It would be in the UPS or FedX truck for ??, then on my front porch until I return home.
Duke's is used throughout the South in conditions just like that.
Its totally shelf stable. I ordered it with White Lily flour and a set of biscuit cutters. I'm trying to channel a southern cook.
Occasionally it shows up at Dollar Stores in the Bay Area, don't know about Sacramento.
Cost Plus has had it, but it's been awhile.
The Duke's folks handled shipping really well; they even found out my mayo was stolen, let me know, and then replaced it! And it is MAD hot where I live, and I keep the extra in my garage.
I saw it in the Marina CA Dollar Tree just last week.
Thanks villadeste, I think the Dollar Tree or market might be like Costco...here today, gone tomorrow. But I'll check anyway.
It was part of a display of condiments (ketchup, mustard) and Fourth of July stuff.
