Castelnuovo Berardenga help requested
Thank you all for your help with selecting Florence restaurants but now on to Castelnuovo Berardenga. Of the seven nights in villa, planning perhaps 3 dinners at local restaurants, 1 evening with a cooking class/dinner at villa, and 3 nights cooking in villa. For the three nights dining out these are the options: La Bottega del 30, Davide Canella, Osteria La Botte Vagliardi and La Laconda di Tommaso. Any thoughts on these choices?
La Bottega del 30 was good when we visited. I haven't been to the others you mention, but had two absolutely outstanding meals at the restaurant at the Castell'in Villa wine estate: http://www.castellinvilla.com/ristora...
They make some of Chianti's best and most interesting wines, and a good range of vintages are available at reasonable prices at the restaurant. As with a lot of places in the area, it's located at the end of a narrow lane.
We were in Tuscany April of this year and stumbled in to Locanda di Tommaso by chance on Liberation day. Was one of the best meals of our 10 day trip. Service was very warm and welcoming. Taglierini with truffles and ham was delicious as was my husbands potato " soup" with escargot.
