  1. Cool. Never heard of 'em.

    Shouldn't it be "Knifeware" ?

    1. Cool stuff!

Love that store's goods especially their own line- would that I could afford some.

      1. Good on Kevin for taking his little niche knife business past the home base!
Great selection of knives and very nicely displayed in Calgary where I also took a private sharpening class.

Now if he could hopefully leverage his increased buying power to get better pricing.....

        1. Bumping this as I just found out the opening party hours (next Tuesday for Vancouver, the following Wednesday for Victoria) are 6-9. All the gear will be available for viewing and purchase, woot! Here's the linkage for free tix in case anyone's interested:

Oh drat - can't get away from work. Will see what's left on Friday (want to get a Japanese Veggie knife).

Which one? Maybe they'll hold it for you...

                  1. re: grayelf

Good suggestion. I'm after a veggie (nakiri) knife but undecided beyond that (other than budget). Might try and get there tomorrow if they're open late enough.

                    1. re: kinnickinnik

I'm guessing they have a bunch of stock. There are some really lovely nakiris there... some from their Masakage lines and then some beauts from Yoshikane and Takeda. There's also a chinese style cleaver from Moritaka that is incredibly awesome. Like a mega-nakiri!

I avoided spending all my money on new knives and instead bought 4 sharpening stones instead... thank goodness next month has three pay periods!

I'll be going. Probably check out the ramen place in tinseltown after. Need to replace my lost/stolen knifes.

Argh, sorry to hear about the knives, but this deffo looks like a good chance to get new ones. Good idea on Taishoken. Or maybe the new Durbach eatery in the old Wild Rice spot...really want to try his version of a patty melt!
