Hi yall looking for help in locating a place that makes a huge jumbo pizza and tastes great. Will be donating the pizza for a great group of kids. Time is against me since the I need to arrive at the festivity no later than 11:15 a.m. (near LAX) Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe Vito's. Will swing one of those 27 inches for you.

          If you ask very nicely.

if you are talking about the vito's in west hollywood, iirc they open at 11am.

Grecos in Tarzana (Ventura Blvd) and Sherman Oaks (Van Nuys Blvd between Ventura and the 101) does 28" pies.

greco's sherman oaks opens at 11am iirc.
15 minutes to get the pizza ang get it transported to LAX, car parked, etc.
no go unless they open specially for you

              2. westsidegal RE: dolorio Jun 13, 2014 11:36 PM

not a jumbo pizza, but iirc, the costco at washington and glencoe opens at 10am.
you would have to get several pizzas though, instead of one big one.

another idea is to see if the Whole Foods market in el segundo will prepare one for you with an advance order.
the market itself opens at 7am, dunno when the pizza part normally opens.

                  Or maybe Tower Pizza.

Though I believe it also has a post-11am opening time.

But maybe just maybe with the World Cup going on it may open earlier ?????

If you are willing to do two 18 inch pies instead of one big one then The Good Pizza http://thegoodpizza.com/index.aspx in Westchester is the solution to your pizza needs. They open early and are very close to your destination and the pizza is good.

good call, servorg. The pizza quality at The Good Pizza is, imho, superior to Whole Foods and superior to Costco.

be sure to double check that The Good Pizza will actually make pizza in the AM.
iirc, they mostly served pastry and breakfast items at that hour. if the oven is not already preheated by about 10am or so, this might not work.

grimaldi's doesn't open until 11 and their "large" pie is 18" ($17 per 18 inch pie with no extra toppings)

Lot better deal and better pie than many re servorgs 18" suggestion

servorg's suggestion, at least has the POSSIBILITY of getting there on time with some pizza in tow.

of course, it would still need to be confirmed that The Good Pizza fires up their oven early enough.

Whether it is a better pie, is a matter of opinion. IMHO The Good Pizza uses edible tomato sauce, while grimaldi's does not, so, if i were the one eating the pizza, i'd prefer The Good Pizza. The tomato sauce is more important to me than the crust. . . ..

Enzo's Pizzeria in Westwood Village does a 23-inch pie, is open at 11, easy access to the 405 to LAX.

unless Enzo's is willing to commit to opening early just for this one order, this is a no go in terms of time.
without special dispensation, there is no way a person can walk into Enzo's at 11 and ARRIVE AT THE FESTIVITY NO LATER THAN 11;15.

Good point. And most joints don't serve pizza for breakfast.
