Late lunch with prosecco?... [San Francisco]

We're in SF for over my friend's birthday and I want to take her out for a late lunch with a bottle of prosecco somewhere ideally within walking distance of Union Square... I'm thinking maybe tapas type food or something quite light? It'll be a Friday at around 4/5pm
Wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere as I want her to have a wonderful birthday!
Thanks in advance :)

  1. Look at the restaurants at Belden Pl. However, some of them might be closed between lunch and dinner.

Re: belden pl, Claudine is open all afternoon, has bubbly but not prosecco (haven't been). Gitane (my fav in that area) opens at 5.

CAMPTON PLACE BAR. Open all afternoon. Very high quality food, michelin 1 star. Wine list is amusing. 4 bubblies but not prosecco.

What is the deal is w no prosecco. GF asked me that recently. Our local open-air hangout always has prosecco by the glass; we love it (drove the wine road through prosecco) --- doesn't everyone?

Just to help anyone trying to locate these restaurants, Claudine, Gitane and Cafe Claude are not on Belden Place. They are on Claude Lane which is another small pedestrian lane that is about a block closer to Union Square and runs south from Bush Street.

    2. The Neiman Marcus Rotunda will have lunch, afternoon tea, and prosecco. It's a beautiful, calm environment great for a quiet birthday.

Lovely suggestion but OP should be aware The Rotunda closes at 5:00 p.m on Fridays.

      2. If cava will do in place of Prosecco, B44.

        1. Piperade, Basque cuisine has Spanish cava.

          1. Trou Normand - no prosecco, but cava and lambrusco
Bluestem Brasserie - no prosecco, but quite a few sparkling varietals.
Press Club - again no prosecco, but lots of other sparkling options.
Who knew it would be so tough to find prosecco in SF!

            1. There's some here, and Happy Hours 4-6.
