Sidecar Donuts - Fantastic Blueberry Buckle

A similar donut to the Huckleberry.

A cake donut infused with whole blueberries - not mixed into the dough like the Huckleberry. Topped with a blueberry frosting and topped with a cornmeal streusel.

A great combination of crunchy and spongey cake donut. The donut was still warm, maybe sitting around 15 minutes. The frosting was not overly sweet and the streusel provided some nice texture. A great donut. If you are around Costa Mesa pick one up.

We didn't like it at all. The frosting was too sweet and the Donut itself had an odd sticky texture. We used to like their Donuts much better and they haven't had my favorite chocolate one since Feb!!

Sorry you didn't like it. Mine wasn't too sweet.

I go to Sidecar probably twice per month. I normally get the Huckleberry and its been great every time.

What chocolate donut are you referring to?

The huckleberry is quite good and so is the Madagascar vanilla.

Any chocolate cake donut. When you got it fresh it was pretty good. Crispy on the outside and chocolaty goodness on the inside.

I'll give it a try the next time I see one. They had a chocolate ganache one the other week or month but it was a bit rich for me.
