Saratoga Dining

  • 4

I take an annual trip to the races in Saratoga with a group of 5 friends. In past years, we have enjoyed going to the Beekman St Bistro and Sperry's for dinner. Planning to go to Sperry's again this year. Last year, after the closure of Beekman, we went to Mouzon House, which was fine, but not as interesting as Beekman. I'm still looking for a Beekman-esque kind of place in Saratoga. Any ideas?

  1. I suggest you consider Javier's and Mingle on the Avenue.

In the spirit of full disclosure, Beekman St Bistro closed before I could get there. But my wife and friends have all enjoyed both of the restaurants listed above.

    1. I have never been to Beekman St Bistro, so really have nothing to contribute on that one, or where in Saratoga can replicate that ambiance. Sperry's is always a fine destination. Have absolutely no info on Mingle on the Avenue, although it is just around the corner from where I live. It's only been open for a few weeks, and perhaps some of the other Saratoga posters who have been there can contribute their reviews. As far as general Saratoga recommendations, just punch up Saratoga in this blogs search engine, and settle back. It's been exhaustedly covered.

What exactly do you mean by "Beekman-esque?" Atmosphere? Food? Farm-to-table?

SO just went to Mingle and was underwhelmed. To be fair, they just opened recently. He said they only had 5 items on the menu. Can this be true?

We went to Beekman Street Bistro once or twice.

Sperry's is one of our favorites.

The only other farm-to-table place I can think of is outside of downtown. And the atomosphere is far from "Beekman-esque."

        Maybe 15 Church?

The patio at Capriccio Saratoga (former Dine location). Very fresh, local. Casual vibe.
