Little bites of apricot awesomeness right heah! Worth a stop (or detour) on your way to or from the shore on Route 81.

Katz's in Woodbridge had my top billing till I discovered these.

Any other favorite spots for rugelach?

  1. Looks delicious.......................
Unfortunately a look at their website menu would give no clue that they make anything besides cupcakes, wedding and special occasion cakes. I downloaded their "full" menu and all it contains are cupcakes.

BTW...was this a traditional cream cheese dough? I'm not fond of those made with vegetable shortening.

Re their menu, I know--maybe they don't think of rugelach as their specialty, but I do. You know, they sure didn't taste like shortening. I'm going to guess cream cheese. Or will confirm if I find out for sure.

Where are your rugelach of choice (besides home, maybe)?

You are correct, they are homemade....
        apricot
        Raspberry/walnut
        chocolate

And another vote for cream cheese--I think the ones at Katz's are shortening as they taste more like my mom's pie crust and "tootsie rolls." I really must learn to make them someday.

    2. Classsic nail polish choice, Katty. Very nice...

Re the rugelach...I love them and will have to try Cozy Corner's version the next time I'm in the Killingworth area.
