Cheap eats in upper cape

  • 6

I am going camping in Truro for a few days and am looking for some good cheap restaurants. I'm not afraid to drive to find them. Anything weird/quirky/fun would be great.

  1. You've got your anatomy upside down. Truro is "lower Cape" (aka "outer Cape"). I'll start by recommending Savory & Sweet on Rte. 6 and the Blackfish restaurant's food truck at Truro Vineyards.

    1. Sorry you're not getting more responses. I'm going to add The Fairway in Eastham for a great breakfast - their homemade corned beef hash is dream worthy. I love their Irish Benedict.

The Local Break in Eastham is Chow worthy. Check out their Facebook page.

Karoo in Ptown and Eastham.....South African cuisine.

Hope others chime in. Enjoy your visit.

      1. Guapo's in Orleans, for fresh and delicious Mexican food.

        1. I am looking for the same sort of answers as the OP. As a result of my research, I have two questions about the answers so far... Are there food trucks at the Vineyard every day? Isn't Karoo in Ptown closed?

          1. Friendly Fisherman in N. Eastham for outstanding lobster rolls and fried seafood. Also, PJs in Wellfleet for the same (also good grilled fish/chowders). Both on 6

            1. Spent a few days on the Cape. Stopped at Sweet Escapes Ice Cream on Route 6 in Truro. The ice cream was excellent with several sizes and lots of fun flavors to choose from. I was the most adventurous with a delicious scoop of salted caramel. Tried a chocolate chip cookie from the attached bakery. Must say it was scrumptious. The delectable cookie dough was studded with chunks of dark chocolate. Would have liked to try a piece of three-berry pie and a pizza. Next time.

Went to Sesuit Café off Route 6A in Dennis for lunch. Not cheap but we wanted a good lobster roll and outdoor seating. The hot dog roll was packed with large chunks of claw meat lightly dressed with mayonnaise accompanied by tasty French fries and very fresh coleslaw. $18.00 seemed reasonable for such a treat. It was fun to sit at the picnic tables and look out at the boats moored in the harbor.
