Fast Casual NYC

What are some fast casual restaurants that can only be found in NYC? I've heard good things about Salad Pangea, Roti, Luke's Lobster and Dig Inn.

Not looking for Panera, Chipotle or Panda Express. The smaller the chain, the better.

  1. Lot of great options in this vein: Mighty Quinn, Porchetta, Crif Dogs, Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop (at Gotham West), Shake Shack...

Mighty Quinn often has long lines, which makes it other than fast.

I think of New York Noodletown as a fast, casual restaurant. They get you in and out as fast as possible (except sometimes when the waitstaff is overly slammed). It doesn't sound like the kind of place you're looking for, but I'm thinking outside the box. There are actually various other places around Chinatown that function as fast and casual, including the "rice and 3/4 sides" steam-tray places and the dumpling specialists.

        1. Do they have to be eat in?

          Shake Shack
          Num Pang

And if you go to the Madison Square park location it's not fast.

I don't think any of the locations are fast.

I once walked by SS TQ around 11:30 p.m. and there was still a line out the door. Yeesh.
