SHOCKER - Vince & Dominic's CLOSED

Robert Dyer is reporting this venerable institution has closed after 31 years in business. I haven't been there in many years, and now feel guilty about contributing to their demise. If I had known, I would've gone one last time.

  1. I went once while waiting for car repair work to be completed. It was beyond awful. It was an enormous slice of thick, blobby, undercooked "crust" topped with cheap plastic-like "cheese" and some sauce-like red stuff with absolutely no flavor. I took one bite and threw the rest away. I could not believe how bad it was. I am shocked to know it was around for 31 years. Was it ever good?

      Many of us liked it.

I'm with you, JV. Have been there a handful of times over the last decade for kids birthday parties and such, but would never have willingly spent my own money there.

      2. Such a shame... I grew up on that stuff and like you hadnt been there in a few years. Do we have absolute confirmation of this? I still keep their refrigerator magnet on my fridge despite living deep in southern maryland now and rarely getting over there.

as far as confirmation goes (too lazy to edit the above post), for what its worth just saw this on their facebook page so I guess its true...

"Vince and Dominic's would like to thank our loyal customers for supporting us for 31 years! As of 5:00 today Home Depot would not renew our lease and the doors are closed for good. Until yesterday we were lead to believe that a new lease would go through, so we were surprised and deeply saddened by this turn of events. We love you all."

So they were forced out. Wonder if they'll reappear somewhere else...

            Robert Dyer is usually right.
