Spending a laid back beach week outside of Apalachacola, FL in July, any particular restaurants, seafood places I shouldn't miss?
I tried nearly all of the recommendations in the Apalachicola area, and the big standout (for local seafood) was: http://www.upthecreekrawbar.com/
IMHO, do not, under any circumstances, go to "Boss Oyster". That was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life . . . the place was beyond filthy, the food was inedible and the service was grumpy and unprofessional. I actually took pictures of our table (not the food, although that was bad, too) because I was so shocked at the conditions! P.S. I've worked in developing countries following natural disasters and it's pretty hard to shock me . . . .
I second the recommendation for Up the Creek. Definitely
the best place for seafood, and a nice spot overlooking the river. The Seafood Grill in town does a very good fry job.
For a change from seafood, Joe Mama's in Port St.Joe
makes fine pizzas and has a very appealing more upscale
