Rum cream, where can I find it?

Jerseygirl111 May 26, 2014 08:09 PM

I am looking for plain Rum Cream, not cinnamon spiced or RumChata.

Wray & Nephew or Sangsters, something like that. I am in NJ so cannot order liquor through mail order.

Any suggestions?

Ask a larger liquor store to get it for you. I can get it at some of the larger stores here in CT. It is a required ingredient for Dirty Bananas or body shots! ;)

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, 1 bottle lasts forever for us. Not sure the liquor store will order it just for us.

I have never had Wray and Nephew's, but have heard it is very good.

El Dorado's Rum Cream is quite decent.

I will look for the El Dorado.

What is rum cream used for...is it just rum with cream in it?

It's a rum/cream liqueur, usually with spices, kind of like Baileys Irish cream liqueur, but much better. Used as a liqueur drunk straight, on the rocks, or in a cocktail.

In Jamaica, it is used in many drinks including a Dirty Banana which also includes rum, Tia Maria, simple syrup, milk and a banana. At one resort, they go through a lot just for body shots.

We had it as part of a drink called a Hummingbird, while in Jamaica.

              Rum cream
              Coffee liquor

Tastes like a banana split. Fantastic. Dirty bananas are great also.
