Edinburgh May 2014
Just thought I would write a quick trip report on our recent visit to edinburgh!
Brunch at Urban Angel, we booked a day in advance at the larger branch. We had a lively table at the window. Service was very good, and the food was delicious. We had a selection of poached eggs, sourdough, smoked salmon, french toast with maple syrup and bacon, sides of homemade baked beans and black pudding and a cheese scone. It was the best breakfast we had in edinburgh.
Lunch at Gardeners cottage. I booked this a week in advance, lovely place, very small restaurant, communal tables. We walked in to be greeted by the delicious smells from the kitchen. We had thr bbq lobster and it was amazing! Only fault was ...We could have eaten two!
Dinner at Ondine, we had the pre-theatre menu, good value. Delicious bread, and three delicious courses.
Dinner and Scran & Scallie which was also delicious, we went for the one of the specials - lamb burger with chips. Nice relaxed atmosphere with top notch yet pub-style food. Well executed.
Had some nice drinks at bon vivant and g and y.
All in all a great trip!
