Blue pear....Dilworthtown......the Maine Event (??)

Anyone know about this? Drove past there today and saw the special sign

  1. I'd love to know if anyone has eaten at D-town Inn lately. The meal I had there a few mos ago, with the new chef, was not great. But he was new back then.

      I ate there in February and had a delicious meal of spare ribs.

        I think that mid March was when the new chef started.

    2. It was a special promotion at both restaurants for Memorial Day weekend only. As far as I can tell, it's over.

      We haven't eaten at Dilworthtown in a while. We've been to Blue Pear a couple times this year and it was excellent, as always.

      1. We were at the Blue Pear last weekend and I loved the Lobster Cobb salad. Even had a little left for the next day. Hubby had the special pork dish.

        In addition we were at the Dilworthtown Inn the prior weekend and enjoyed it very much.

        1. Four of us ate at D-town last night. It was OK. Thought some of the recipes were lacking interest. eg the spare rib was braised perfectly but tasted unremarkable due to minimal seasoning. Halibut was overcooked.

            Dilworthtown Inn used to be our go-to spot for a special meal out. I'll bet it's been at least a couple of years since we were there; out last couple of meals there were pretty unremarkable. My impression is that it's gone the way of the Mendenhall Inn -- okay, maybe not as far downhill, but still, it's slipped since their Glory Days. Then again, those glory days didn't see much competition in that part of Chesco, and, I think my expectations of fine dining have shifted as well.
