Smokehouse/BBQ joints that sell party-sized sides?

My husband and I are trying to plan a large cookout gathering this summer for about 40 people. It is part of a weekend long family reunion. A few folks live locally but most will be driving or flying in and staying at a hotel and can only contribute money towards the food rather than actual prepared dishes.

The task of preparing most of the food will fall on just a few of us and I think we can save much time and effort if we purchase side dishes. I hate, hate, hate grocery store deli sides such as mac and potato salads. In the midwest, there were a few restaurants that I could count on to buy such sides by the gallon if I gave them advance notice.

But, I'm newish to the PNW and all I see are restaurants that cater entire meals. I don't need a cater. I just want the food.

Any ideas of restaurants that can accommodate requests for larger quantities of side dishes? I live in Mukilteo and the reunion is in Tacoma so any restaurant along the way would most likely be convenient.

Thanks for any info.

    Maybe call The Celtic Cowboy
    http://ccbbq.com/wordpress/

They are in Edmonds and not convenient to Tacoma and I'm not sure if they would cater just the sides but their food is great and a good value so worth a phone call to see what you can work out.

Thank you! I looked at the website and the do sell the sides individually in at least quart sizes.

Edmonds is just a short ride down the road. I'll try to find them in the next couple of weeks and get a small portion of the sides to sample.

The location might not be convenient to Tacoma but it is convenient and close to me. I don't mind hauling 'tater salad down south.

      Thank you for the link!

Bourbon and Bones in Fremont might be able to do it.

ah, so this is more of a best Mac Salad, Potato Salad request than anything else, right?

I actually can't think of smokehouse where I've loved those sides.

I like what Ezell's does for Mac Salad and Potato Salad, but that might fully be a function of loving their chicken. I'm sure they'll provide larger servings if you ask.

Thank you all for the names of restaurants to check out. I'll go to the websites and either call or drop by the places that seem to offer what I'm looking for.

I'm sure they'll all be more than happy to sell you any sides you like in any size.

I like Rainin' Ribs in Lake City.

They have "Big Bowls" so I'm sure they could manage our needs.

I'm not sure that I've been to that part of Seattle before and it looks like a great place to try out with some friends.

From going through the names so far, it looks like Celtic Cowboy and Rainin' Ribs are what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the business to check out!

The greens at Rainin' Ribs are good enough to make you slap your mama. Highly recommended.

All of that, to be sure, but whatever you do, get hushpuppies. And Brunswick stew. And brisket. And ribs.

+1 for Rainin' Ribs. Their hush puppies are also terrific. But oh those greens. Yum!
