  1. Thwaites market in Methuen makes the best bangers I've ever had.

This looks promising, with the bonus of pork pies!!!

    2. The Irish butcher in Adams village, home to all things Irish.

Official name Butcher Shop Market. Next door to the now sorta famous Greenhills Irish Bakery.

Thanks for the reply. If this is the place I am thinking of, it's all commercial frozen?

All fresh house made sausages. And fresh meat of all kinds.

And very Irish and willing to find you what you want if they don't have it.

They have a tiny freezer case with a bunch of odd stuff in it like ostrich ....

They are really friendly. And, like I said, an Irish place in a totally Irish neighborhood.

They are on Adams St a block north of "the boulivahd" (Gallivan). Catty corner from the Eire.

I really like the Butcher Shop and they are accommodating. I called one day to see if they had any curry sausages. They didn't but they made some up and I went by later in the day to pick them up.

These are known to be the best, and if I'm not mistaken I believe they're also sold at Roche Bros. in West Roxbury.

          2. I don't want to over promise and I'm not pimping for them but they are a couple blocks from my house so I use them quite a bit and they are great. At times inconsistent as a lot of neighborhood places are..

            They have a clunky website:

Maybe call and ask if they have what you want.

I'll certainly check it out, but I have been to 2-3 places in that vicinity and it was all commercial frozen bangers and puddings. Believe me, I'd be happy to find the good stuff there!

                What other places?

Since I only buy sausages other than bangers I can't personally attest to them but it would make no sense for an Irish place to attempt homemade chorizo and Italian sausages yet offer frozen bangers.

I'd call them. Or eat breakfast there (weirdest place ever ) eat their product and chat with the owner.

So you don't know for sure that they sell fresh bangers and puddings? Your just guessing?

                  1. re: aregularjoe

The Butcher Shop sells black and white pudding and bangers. Everything was fresh that I purchased. They have good rashers too.

Thanks to C. Hamster and BostonZest. Never been to this place, and will be checking it out this week!

            2. MF Dulock makes bangers on occassion. You would need to call and see if they made any for the week.
