Superba Food + Bread Sunday Night Fried Chicken Dinner

  • 7

I love fried chicken and I just had the Sunday Night Special Fried Chicken Dinner at the new Superba Food + Bread and it was wonderful. Crispy, moist and tender, not the least bit greasy, slightly spicy & served with their collard green slaw and a homemade biscuit, 3 large pieces for $20. Im glad it's only served Sunday nights or I would be in trouble. Some of the best Fried Chicken in LA! Great service too.

    1. That looks delicious. I wish I had some right now.

      1. I'm seeing two pieces -- is one hidden underneath the larger one? I see a wing at 12:00, is there also a breast and thigh?

For those who haven't heard the word, there is a white shack on the south side of San Fernando Blvd. in Pacoima across from the little municipal airport called Wendill's, labeled Thai Food. I've never had the Thai, other than some crispy shrimp rolls. But their fried chicken is great. Made to order, so it takes a half-hour (I call ahead). Big pieces, amazingly hot and juicy. Thin, crispy crust. Served with a few thin fries, a side salad with their version of thousand island. All of $6.50 for 4 pieces. Thanks to this board for cluing me in when I asked for places after golf at Hansen Dam.

Correct: Brest wing and thigh and though you can't tell from the photo the pieces were on the large size.

        2. Has anyone gone for the Tuesday rotisserie duck?

Tasty. Nicely crisped skin with an apricot gastrique. Good sized portion. The duck fat roasted vegetables were less intriguing than they sounded but perfectly fine. Still you might want to order an additional side dish.
