Buffet Brunch for Father's Day

My dh loves buffet brunches (me, not at all). But it will be Father's Day and we would like to accommodate his wish. I am at a loss as to where to take him and two adult children. It can be either Boston or the North Shore. Price not so much a concern as where to go at this point.

Any suggestions?

The Cafe Fleuri at the Langham Hotel in downtown Boston has an over the top one.

We went to the Langham for Mother's Day and we were not as pleased as we had been in the past with their brunch.

I haven't been for about 2 years but it was always my favorite brunch. What was different?

Henrietta's Table at the Charles Hotel does a Sunday buffet brunch. It doesn't start until noon and is a bit pricey, but I think most buffet brunches are.

The Blue Room in Kendall Sq.

It was set up very differently and it just seemed to not have the selection that it had in the past. We hadn't been there in quite a while either.

Some of it was the same, i.e. pasta station and omelet station. The roast been was good, tender, flavorful but they somehow managed to cut it as thin as a piece of paper. Even though beef is never my first choice even I could have eaten more than one sliver.

I, truthfully, had a difficult time finding food to eat. The shrimp was plentiful along with other seafood options.

I just don't know I just didn't get the same vibe as in the past.

For the price, we won't be going back.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's been a place we've always gone in a big group for special get togethers where we could linger and enjoy good food.

We're going to the Taj. Good, bad or indifferent that's it. He seems happy enough so that's all that matters. After all, it will be Father's Day!!

I see that Nubar in the Sheraton Commander has a Sun. buffet brunch for a not bad price (and had been offering a 1/2 off deal).

On the lower end, Common Ground in Allston offers a buffet (both days of the weekend I think).
