Shaws Fenway getting beer and wine!

Stopped in to pick up a couple groceries today, and saw the new signage- the aisle that was "Wild Harvest" natural foods is set up for beer and wine, with signage hanging at the end of the aisle! Very excited to be able to buy a decent (hopefully) bottle of wine in my neighborhood.

  1. There's always been a liquor store on that street. It's across from CVS now after moving from right across from Shaws.

That liquor store has never had a decent wine inventory and the liquor inventory is not consistent.

Have you ever tried to buy a bottle of wine there? The selection of wines they carry is horrifying, plus overpriced.

        1. The Shaws at Twin City Plaza in Somerville (McGrath Highway) opened one about 4 months ago, and I agree that it is way overpriced and the selection is terrible. In addition, it is staffed by some of the most unpleasant people I have ever encountered. One in particular. She is always eating something messy, has food and paper work spread all over the counter and has some very questionable cleanliness issues. I went a couple of times when they opened due to the convenience, but I will never go back. I can get better wine at much better prices only a block or two away. And both are family run operations.

          1. Yellowtail, Barefoot, Budweiser, and Yuengling for all!

            1. I stopped in today to check out the inventory. Sadly, very little good wine, really expensive wine and liquor, and not very interesting beer selection. Some cheap bottles of wine are priced $3 more than they are at Shaws Prudential! How does that make sense?
