Going in a week or so, and wondering if the tea tasting is worth the time and tariff. In fact is the whole place worth the time and tariff.

  1. The whole place: yes, absolutely.

The tea pairings: I never was a fan. The teas are, by far, the best Chinese teas to be had in Paris (until I open my own teahouse), but I think they'd be better off drunk on their own. The pairings don't always work, sometimes they do. If I went back I'd order wine with my meal.

I've heard of many a worse idea. Keep us informed as to concept and realization.

I totally agree re certain teas, like Biluochun.
And when paired, if not well paired, the tea could have such an invasive effect on the food. -- I seldom see this phenomenon in wine pairing?

This is not a solid project at the moment, but I do think I should do that someday.
There is no notion of tea-food pairings in Chinese culture and I think there's a good reason for it. Wine-food pairings are an entirely different business.

      2. We did the tea pairing last year and found it well worthwhile. How often do you get that option and it added to the fun of the experience. Personally I thought the tastes were interesting and enhanced the meal
