Dim Sum Near LAX

  • 9

Any suggestions for Dim Sum near LAX that will be open for lunch on Fridays? If not for lunch then Friday night?

Also, are these places order off the menu or do they roll the carts around? I like the cart service better.

Thanks

  1. In order if your questions.

    Nope and nope.

I should note that my answers are even more emphatic if by "near LAX" you mean in terms of travel time as opposed to travel distance.

    1. If there is nothing near then, what about closest to LAX heading south?

Most likely, Sea Empress on redondo beach blvd. in Gardena.

      2. Actually, Sea Empress in Gardena is good. 405 south to
Redondo Beach Blvd, then east between Crenshaw and Western, on the west side of a large minimal on the south side of the street.

          Sea Empress is not good.

But whatever it is, depending on traffic, it can easily take 25-30 minutes to get there from LAX.

Given LA traffic in/around the 405, that can be considered "near" LAX. I suppose.

on a friday? it might be quicker to fly to SFO and take BART into chinatown than drive to the SGV

              Sea Empress is in Gardena.

SE of LAX via 405. No easy drive but certainly easier than to the SGV.

The 10 to SGV is not bad mid-day. However, after 2:00 it transforms into an autostrada nightmare.

Even though Sea Empress is not in the SGV, but the best dim sum restaurants in L.A. are in the SGV. Shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes.
