fino croton

at the risk of never getting another table, fino opened up next to A&P in croton. We've been three times and it's been good to very good, fairly priced but there are definitely some land mines. $15 corkage fee, good service, the owners had a couple of restaurants and definitely know what they're doing.

Here's what we've liked:

cold antipasto
fettucini carbonara, I asked to have it made with their home made pasta
homemade papradelle with wild mushrooms
red snapper milanese special
brocoli rabe

fried calamari - overcooked, over fried
chopped saled - actually, my wife liked it, I thought it overdressed, but very fresh ingredients

      By Amberlands--on Rte. 9A just south of the Montrose/Buchanan exit.

      It's outside of the Village, but it's a Croton-on-Hudson address.
