Best omakase?

Moved a year ago from LA, and have been craving omakase along the lines of Sasabune, Echigo, Hirozen, Sushi Gen, Kanpai, etc. If you haven't been, warm (not hot) sushi rice, different types of nigiri (monkfish liver, tai, amaebi with fried head, etc.), all best eaten at the sushi bar. I've been to a couple of great sushi joints, but I'm looking for a spot to sit at the bar and watch a great sushi chef.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Give Octopus Garden a call also. I believe they do omakase.

    Dan may also work well...

I can confirm that OG does indeed do Omakase.

    2. Love the Octopus Garden omakase. Their foie gras nigiri is amazing.

Thanks all for the Octopus Garden tip everyone! I'll give it a whirl hopefully this weekend.

Make sure you call soon. It's a small place with limited seats (maybe 20 or so), with only 6-7 seats for at the sushi bar for Omakase.

If you want a Nigiri-focused Omakase experience, make sure you specify.

Also, make 100% certain that you get the Portobello 'Nigiri'.
