Where are you dining?

I am thinking Sea Grille or Vers and wine after at Delmar! http://www.capecodrestaurantweek.com/

  1. Thanks for posting--I never see any publicity on this. Unfortunately, Vers is too early for me, though I am having lunch there next week for a Smith Club event. Must check this out--and we should get together soon.

We'll be in Italy from June 20-July 8th; no significant summer plans after that. I'm taking a pasta class in Bologna, so maybe I can practice some new skills. BTW, my son was just in Cuba, too, and loved it.

oh fun..summer sounds great...maybe ciclista will be in Chatham

    2. CC restaurant Week...always the best kept secret on the peninsula. As an aside, sad to see the death of Chowhounds for the area.

CCG- I guess I am counted as one of the deaths for this area. I have been so, so, so busy!!! Plus, I wish they'd break down the huge "Southern New England" category. It's just too huge to wade through all of that CT stuff. All I want is Cape & Islands (with some NB/FR and Rhode Island). And I hate when posters post "Milford restaurant" or something like that, and there's probably a Milford in every state in NE.

Could not agree more ciclista. The regional board's too broad in scope, yet the talk is minimal about our area mostly because, in all honesty, there's so little to talk about that hasn't been said 100 times over. The majority of posts these days seem to be from visitors with the "tell me where to eat that's the best...." variety. With so few that report back, many a regular poster have stopped replying even to those queries. Plus, we've lost so many regular posters due to the strict over moderation of the site. It seems to have loosened up quite a bit from where it was now that site traffic is greatly reduced, but I fear it's too little too late. Shame. This was such a vibrant community.

Always on the look-out for something new, we recently dined at an interesting place that was new to us. Peddlers in Brewster. I enjoyed it. Very quaint. Mostly French. You may want to check it out.

Not a year-rounder, but I'll be frequenting the Cape starting now. Had an excellent Mother's Day brunch at Bleu in Mashpee. I had no idea they served Sunday brunch, and it was really, really good--and they take reservations.

Had an early dinner at Anejo in Falmouth Center. It can be a bit of a wait for a table, and it's somehow not the "cleanest" place I've ever eaten, but I really like their food. I had their Cod "encornflaccado", which is covered in corn flakes then sauteed, over a bed of rice and fire-roasted corn, with a green sauce. It's seriously delicious-despite the silly name-I order it every time. My DC really likes the enchilados verde. They have huge, but pricey margheritas as well. Free warm chips and salsa, expensive but delicious guacamole made tableside.

And Maison Villatte is as good as ever--a reall, Parisian-level patisserie and boulangerie in downtown Falmouth.
