Can you help me decipher this recipe?

Is each roast 2.5 lbs for a total of 5 lbs. of pork, or is 2.5 lbs. the total with each roast being 1.25 lbs?

I'm not even sure how one would find out a definitive answer without asking the recipe creator.

Any ideas?

        Huh. Usually, 1kg (2.2 pounds) is 8 servings here.

      2. well just join myrecipe and ask them...

        given the cook time I'd guess a tad less than that for 5 lbs. as the last time I did a 5 lb. 2 hours was far more than enough. split into 2 roasts on indirect will cut that time by a lot (and leave a bit of time to sear at start or end depending on your bent).

        read it slowly:

        "2 (2 1/2-pound) boneless pork loin roasts... (etc.) Arrange roasts over empty (of coals) side, and grill, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat 2 hours and 30 minutes"

        Meaning a total of 5 lbs, divided into 2 cuts of 2.5 each. cooking time still sounds on the longish side (but careful turning would be key).

          i did contact them but wanted to hear your guys' opinions as well. i don't want to be negative but i'm not sure how they would know the answer too. a customer service representative responding to my email is not going to be the recipe creator. there are far too many recipes on there for them to do anything different than what you or i are doing when we look at the recipe and guess for ourselves.

            yes there is an un-numbered ring of Hell occupied by customer service representatives never imagined by Dante. heh, I wouldn't want to waste a nice chunk of anything either.

            It would also depend on your oven, and if the temperature taken was measured in a professional oven or what apears to be in a home oven, any how cooking is about patience, you must have some to be a good cook.

          3. It is five pounds of meat in total, each roast is 2.5 pounds.
