Maestro's or Strip Steal?

Friends LOVE Maestro's, but I have read good things about Strip Steak. Probably want something more creative than EITHER! Thoughts?

  1. I just visited Stripsteak. It was a truly appalling experience, particularly as I'd pre-arranged the meal for a special event. Few times in my life have I ever been so disappointed with a restaurant or dining experience and as such I'd recommend almost ANYWHERE in Vegas over it. As a long time fan of Mina I'm left speechless as to how they could show so poorly.

I've never dined at the Maestro's here, but enjoyed the location in Orange County enough. Also consider looking into Carnevino - definitely more creative, and better steaks.

    1. I assume you are referring to Mastro's? I'm asking not to correct you but so the search function will be more likely to be useful for those doing a search. I wish I could help you, but I've never been to LV Mastro's or Strip Steak.

      1. My experience at Stripsteak wasn't bad, but it was the least impressive of the five steak houses in Las Vegas that I've been to. My summary at the time: "Prices are high but not outrageous for food that is good but not stellar."

I haven't been to Mastro's. My current favorite is CUT: excellent steaks and a nice, lively atmosphere. However, it's possible that Carnevino is better. I thought it was excellent, but I've only been there once, and ordered an off-menu (Riserva) steak. I'd want to try one of their regular steaks before deciding.

        1. I would not do either.....There are a half-dozen (at the least) better steakhouses for quality, service and comfort; and Mastro's is only a big check and a hit & miss type of place. I would do RM in Mandalay Place or, even, Joe's Stone Crab in the Forum Shops before I would do Mastro's.

          1. Thanks all, don't know why I always thought there was an"e" in it! I am not that jazzed by the idea of a steak place! Really am more into creative, interesting small plates-no idea where to go for that in Vegas?
