Did I imagine a Settebello in Santa Monica?

Yesterday, I walked yesterday from Penzey's in Santa Monica to Main and Rose in Venice for the Art Block festival. I walked down Main Street nearly the whole time.

I could have sworn I saw a Settebello pizzeria along that route, on the west side of Main. Now I'm checking the website, and the Google, and it's nowhere to be found.

Am I nuts? (Replies should be in relation to this question only, please).

What could I have seen along Main that could have confuddled me?

Definitely not. I could have sworn I saw "Settebello" written on the door. I suppose it could have been a similar Italian name, but I didn't linger at all in order to take it in. I seem to recall it was around the area of Rita's Italian Ice.

There's a Bravo pizzeria on the west side of Main right near Rita's but I still think you're thinking of Stella Barra.

Makes sense. There's an "S" and a "T" and lots of vowels. ;)

This is why they pay you the big bucks. ;)

Maybe the check got lost in the mail w/ the name change??? ;)

the next time you are in that location, go into THE GALLEY and order a martini or two or three.

it/they will magically cure whatever ails you.

if you want a pizza AND want to sit down while you eat it, i'd advise going farther south to settebello in the marina.

I vaguely recall WSG really liking the place (b/c I think her recs prompted me to go myself).

I only went to Stella Rossa/Barra once, but I don't remember it being particularly comfortable or relaxing (although the pizza was mighty tasty).

no question i am a fan of stella barra pzza: great crust, great INTENSE tomato flavor.
their pizza is wonderful and is unique.

the thing is that i am NOT a fan of the incredible waits, the unbearable and unpredicable parking, and the fact that someone in my demographic category becomes invisable once seated at the bar.

TC - that is so funny - but I think you mean "dis" - he/she is not up to "this" - in fact, you aren't :)

The Galley does open on Sundays at 1 PM for lunch (or drunch if you prefer).

and the Galley offers happy hour at the bar all day on sundays.

                2. You may have seen Stella Rosa? its similar
