I love Vernors ginger soda. It's always been hard to find around here but I found it this weekend at Wegmans. It is sold in both cans and 2 liter bottles. I forgot how much I missed this and am happy to find it.

Big ups for the house brand mint-lime seltzer and black cherry soda, too.

Gonna have to grab some next time. They had Saranac ginger beer, too, which I'd never seen before. I picked up a six but haven't tried it yet.

That will be a great thing to make this summer! Thanks for reminding me of that.

I don't know this product. Does it taste like ginger beer or does it taste like a light natural form of gingerale? or other? thx.

Nothing light about it. It is very spicy, super carbonated with tiny bubbles. The combo makes a lot of people sneeze. It's tasty with a vanilla ice cream float ==> Boston cooler.

I haven't had it in a few years, and I've heard the recipe is altered--will be curious to find this out!

Jenny Ondioline and I were thrilled to find Vernor's in stock at the Northborough Wegman's a couple of years ago, and bought a 12-pack. However, after we tried it, we were pretty disappointed - we both found it sweet and bland, a shadow of its former spicy self. Macadamianut's description of it below as "ginger ale like cream soda" may be a more accurate description of its current flavor profile. Unfortunately, that's definitely not what we'd had in mind when we bought it. We'll stick with Saranac or Reed's, both of which Wegman's also carries.

Sad face, bummer, thumbs down, why can't we have nice things.

Yes, they've reduced the carbonation substantially. It used to be extremely carbonated so the burst of bubbles would make you sneeze. That's the major change to me.

It also just tastes sweeter and less complex than it used to. It's really disappointing.

Ah, that explains my similar dissapointment.

It tastes like a cream ginger ale like cream soda. It's delicious with a slice of lemon or lime in it too.

That's a great description. I bought it at Wegman's last week, along with a 6-pack of Gosling's diet ginger beer, and it is delicious. Even my husband, who hates diet soda, has been sneaking some, so we have to go stock up again this week (sigh of happiness).
