Bondir Concord Brunch?

Kat May 3, 2014 02:41 PM

Has anyone had brunch at Bondir in Concord? I just booked for Mother's Day but I am uncertain. Not sure how reliable Opentable reviews are, but they are mixed on Bondir. Many of the comments complain about very small portion size and Mom is not the sort of person who values quality over quantity. Is the brunch very small portions too? I am thinking I should perhaps book elsewhere.

    Oops, meant lunch, not brunch.

there was a huge long concord bondir thread a month or so ago. you might want to read that.
my advice would be to cancel there. If your mom likes trad and quantity, she might like the Colonial Inn (maybe booked though.) And what about the lovely AKA Bistro in Lincoln, or __Thoreau? in the Concord train station.

Appreciate the suggestions, I've been checking them out. FYI, Colonial Inn is $60 PP for adults and $35 for kids for the Mother's Day Brunch!!! Seriously, it is suburban Boston, not NYC! There is no way my kid could ever eat $35 worth of brunch food in one sitting. Outrageous! (apologies, rant over).

You might try the Red Raven in Acton. We went for dinner with friends a couple of weeks ago and the food was pretty good and the atmosphere is pleasant. Service was spotty, though.

Reporting back. We decided to keep the Bondir lunch reservation as two other places were booked and one was too $$$. Lunch was wonderful. The Mother's Day lunch was a three course pre-fixe for $34 consisting of a number of items from the regular lunch menu. Mom was pleased with her main and dessert, but a bit flummoxed by the appetizer choices. Still, two out of three is good and she liked the room a lot. Portion size was not extra large but not at all skimpy; none of us were hungry at the conclusion of the meal, even my spouse, the human vacuum. Service was excellent, attentive but not overly friendly. Checked out the sample dinner menu and I am really looking forward to another visit.

Thanks for reporting back, Kat. Glad you had a good day and if you do go for dinner, please post. Since people seem so split on both locations, it's especially helpful to hear back one way or another.
