half and half substitute

When making soup that calls for milk, if I want it to be pareve I usually use soy milk. Just wondering if the recipe calls for half and half if I would be better off using non dairy creamer.

  1. Until they discontinued it, Mimiccreme was the best choice. Now just stick with soy/almond milk and maybe a little cornstarch (not really necessary because you can just cook it down a little). Non-dairy creamer is awful.

You can also get soy creamer (plain, unsweetened).

    2. If the flavor profile works , use coconut milk.

      1. Almond milk is thicker and can be cooked down too.
