Hat Creek on Burnet Rd.

rudeboy May 2, 2014 03:59 PM

Hat Creek just did a major expansion on Burnet at the end of my street. Playscape, beer, etc. I think that they are open. I did notice that they will be serving breakfast now. I received two coupons in the mail for a free taco or something. FYI. I peered at their menu before the reopen, and it appears that the basic price for burgers and such have not changed.

Yes, they're open. Had it last week. They still haven't solved the consistency problem with the fries though. When they're good, they're really good, but more often than not (like 3 times out of 4) they're a soggy, oil-soaked mess.

If they are serving fresh cut they need to rinse them and cook them twice.

They are fresh cut. It could also be an oil temperature issue, couldn't it? They're not just soggy and oil-soaked. They're also really dark (which I normally like if the fries are also crispy). They're definitely not doing something right.

They had a big "Help Wanted" sign for a while, so maybe the new employees are still getting the hang of it.

The problem has existed for years. And yet I still keep going back.
