Colorado Springs on Mothers Day but not *for* Mothers Day

Boston chowhound here. We will be in Colorado Springs for dinner on Sunday, May 11.
I know, probably the worst, least chow-ish day, all year, to eat dinner in a restaurant.
Any ideas? We would be happy to sit at a bar and make a tapas dinner out of appetizers, especially if there weren't twelve TVs going. Or, eat all fancy pants with white tablecloths. All we really want is a great meal.
Last time I was there, I loved 2 South, but they are closed on Sundays.

  1. Love the Broadmoor and the Golden Bee is a a lovely British Pub on property but sits off the side...won't have the craziness of the Penrose room for Mother's Day.
    Great place to stay!

      Thank, Beach chick!
Looks awesome, but, alas, they are fully booked for that Sunday.
Since we are not too, too familiar with area, I'd prefer to get a reservation someplace.
Trying to think what sort of foods that do not appeal to mothers....

Golden Bee is a pub, so I'm surprised they are taking reservations for the bar.
Anything available at some of the other restaurants on property?
Completely understand on having a reservation...probably one of the busiest days of the year to go out and dine.
That's why I thought the gorgeous pub would be a nice reprieve since most of the Mom's want to go to Penrose Room...Fathers Day might be a different story.
Too bad...food is quite good and the beer on tap is excellent.

I haven't been in COS for a year but will be there starting Mother's Day for a week. I've always enjoyed Blue Star. Plan to go again!
