Huh! LOL Sorry about that, JAB - I didn't see it show up when I peeked occasionally at the FM&N board, and since no one commented on your thread, it didn't stay high enough up on the feed.

I guess this means I have to do the recaps again for CH. :-P

      1. re: LindaWhit

        Yes You Do.

No good deed goes unpunished ;-)

        1. re: LindaWhit

Just recaps? By now Linda it might be expected that you will find a way to attend the filming and post firsthand accounts.

          1. re: viperlush

Believe me, I would *LOVE* to do that, viperlush. :D But I'm afraid I'm not as "camera ready" as the TC producers would want me to be.

              1. re: LindaWhit

yeah, or at least get screeners like many critics and reviewers!

                1. re: trolley

I think you've more than earned a spot at a Restaurant Wars table. Talk about free PR for the show!

                  1. re: bear

Awww, thanks. But I'm not even a blip on their radar.

                    1. re: LindaWhit

You really have to find a way to get into at least one of the events. Imagine what a blast it would be to read your recap AND behind-the-scenes details.

                      1. re: LindaWhit

Maybe we can start a Twitter campaign to get Linda on one of the Shows. Tom's good natured. I'm sure if enough of us gently suggest...

I don't really even know how to start such a thing.

                        1. re: JuniorBalloon

TBNT. I ain't pretty enough for them. I'll continue to watch from afar. :-)

          2. thanks for posting this Linda!

            1. My predicictions:

Boston will be called Beantown, bad Boston accent impressions, famous local Athlete (Ortiz, Brady, Chara, Rondo?) as a judge, misidentified Brookline or Cambridge as neighorhoods of Boston, clams, lobster bake on a Harbor Island ( Jasper White?), Julia Child references or challenge, and a Sam Adams or Harpoon sponsored quick fire.

And I wonder if they will try to tie in the 4th on the Esplanade or Earth Fest (or would security still be an issue?). And I would love if they did an event at the MFA, the green icicle would look awesome on TV. Maybe get ingredients donated from the Victory Gardens in the Fens?

I'd be awfully disappointed without a tea party reenactment.

                1. re: JAB

And how can I forget a possible DD's sponsored quick fire.

                2. re: viperlush

It's usually a bit over 30 days for the shoot (IIRC), so if Production is in the Spring, the Independence Day Esplanade tie-in won't work.

But I suspect there will be something at Fenway, something with Tiffani Faison from TC1 and TC10 winner Kristin Kish (she's no longer at Menton, but I think she might still be in the area), definitely something at the Cape or in Gloucester, probably something at Harvard or MIT?

                  1. re: LindaWhit

Looks like Fenway Park and Plimouth Plantation are possible locations.

A MIT and MoS science themed challenge would be interesting. The MoS is a great location and can get some great river/Boston shots from the Cambridge side of the river. A couple years ago the BF and I went to a Valentines Day event at the MIT museum. They paired up a researcher to each of the deadly sins. They then gave a short (15min) lecture about their research and offered a snack that matched their sin or theme. Gluttony was a donut, wrath hot wings, lust chocolate fondue, etc.

                    1. re: viperlush

Yeah, Plimouth Plantation could be left off the list, IMO. Go out to PTown or Chatham or Brewster.

                      1. re: viperlush

That sounds like it'd be right down Richard Blais' avenue!

                    2. re: viperlush

Don't forget a "Boston Strong" reference somewhere...

                      1. re: mwk

No no no no no no no!!!! I specifically posted on TC's Facebook page asking that they avoid that particular phrase. Not that they'll listen to me, but....

                        1. re: LindaWhit

I'm guessing there won't be a pressure cooker challenge.

                      2. re: viperlush

an event at the Isabella would be classier even than the MFA...

I'm sure they'll do something at Fenway Park.
And probably a creative remake of chowdah!

                        1. re: LindaWhit

I think there's a wide variety of Wallburgers snarky ideas to be toyed with....

                          1. re: LindaWhit

                            They missed the Chappaquiddick clambake.

                            1. re: LindaWhit

As an MIT alumna, they are totally missing the obvious: there needs to be a salt-related challenge in honor of the annual sodium drop!

                            2. I heard they were going to be housed in South Boston... that should be interesting...

                                1. re: cwdonald

South Boston as in Southie? Or the South End? For those unaware:

Southie = South Boston... a traditionally blue-collar residential neighborhood, although it is changing, but what some think of when they hear the "Bawstin" accent. (Good Will Hunting, L Street Tavern, Whitey Bulger)

South End = Back Bay - distinctly different with a more "trendy" feel, and upscale restaurants, galleries, and cafes.

                                  1. re: cwdonald

more than interesting if there are any minorities in the cast... Southie is NOT a friendly place, gentrification notwithstanding.

                                    1. re: ChefJune

                                      I disagree.

June, if I recall correctly you live in New Jersey.

I live in Dot and I'm in Southie at least 3 times a week.

Southie is a friendly place. It's tremendously different then 10 years ago.

And I've have heard that the cheftestants will be put up I Southie ( God knows there's enough new housing ) but my source is unreliable .

                                      1. re: C. Hamster

Thank you for telling me that, C. Hamster.

I lived in Boston for 11 years. Southie was always a "friendly" place. If you're white. Maybe that's changed some, but not according to friends I know who still live in Boston.

                                        1. re: ChefJune

Perhaps it is your friends' perceptions that haven't changed because the demographic of southie has certainly changed a bit
