Can anyone recommend a place for wonderful fried oysters in the Red Bank area? A sit down restaurant...not just take out. I am thinking Pearl Oyster bar quality fried, not raw, oysters. Is that a possibility?
Thank you,
Meagan

  1. Bahrs in the Highlands has them on the menu but I can not recommend.

Good seafood is problematic around here.

    1. I think Mr. Shrimp in Belmar had them the last time I was there.

I had a fried oyster sandwich at Mr Shrimp's last summer. Meh! Edible, but not what I am looking for ( and dreaming of!!!)
Has anyone tried the fried oysters at The Chowda House in Red Bank?

            Same- Meh
Ditto for Navesink Fishery fried oysters- Meh

Too bad Keyport Fishery doesn't have a restaurant. So far that is my favorite place for fried seafood.

      2. I am not really an oyster guy but the Inlet Cafe has them in HIghlands. My wife likes them so I will have one or two sometimes.

That spot might be worth checking out on a nice day so you can sit outside on the river.

Didn't reply to this yesterday when I first read the OP, but your mention of the Inlet Cafe mae the bell in my head go 'DING". I've had fried oysters at the Inet several time, and the have been respectable each time. The best were at Bay Ave Trattoria.

        2. My only comment is "always eat them whole."
