Two nights in Montreal

  • m

We will be staying in the Old Montreal for two nights prior to our cruise which winds its way to NYC.
I love the recommendations on this board and have narrowed down our dining for the two nights to Les Remparts in Old Montreal in the Auberge du Vieux-Port hotel and the Au Pied de Cochon.
However, recently I noticed mixed reviews for Les Remparts and am now having second thoughts. Help! Any other rec in Old Montreal.
BTW, since we will be spending two nights in NYC, any rec in the Big Apple. I know, give some parameters. $50-$75 pp (w/o wine), French or Italian in the 50's to 80's east or west side of town.

  1. Unless it has gone downhill since we ate there last August, Les Remparts should be fine. We had a very good dinner there, the service was excellent, and the atmospherics were quite pleasant.

As for suggestions re: NYC, your request really belongs on the Manhattan board where I'm sure you'll get a good response. :-)

    1. I don't understand ANY negative comments re: les Remparts on this board. We ate there in November and have already made a reservation for June, when we will return. I am sure you will not be disappointed! There is also a wonderful restaurant, ModAvie, which has excellent jazz and excellent lamb chops...great atmosphere and, of course, less expensive than les Remparts.
