A group of 4 went to Levant this past Tuesday night. We went on the early side (5:45) and it was initially VERY quiet, which concerned me for a while…but the food (and drinks) were great!
We started with the Lamb Cigars and Wood Fired Pita with Hummus Masabacha, both of with were tasty. To drink, I had the Anatolia (Rye, dry vermouth, Luxardo bitter, benedictine) and it came with a small, perfectly clear ice ball. I love clear ice in cocktails. The cocktail itself tasted like a cocktail version of an Aperol Spritz. My second cocktail wa the Perfect Palmetto (Rum, sweet and dry vermouth, Orange bitters) and it was reminiscent of a dry sherry in flavor. I preferred the Anatolia, but both were well-made.
The rest of our dinner included the Marinated Shrimp Salad, Grilled Asparagus, Stewed Tabais Beans, and Grilled Marinated Octopus (this was excellent!). Our friends ordered other dishes but I did not try them. Everything we has, though, was really quite good and I would go back in a heartbeat.
