Looking for Italian in Metairie, forgot name

  • 3

I haven't been to New Orleans for almost 10 years. I remember going to an Italian place I think in Metairie, kind of the general area around Dragos. It was probably north of Vets, along a side street that ran north and south. I think the name of the place started with the letter F and it was in an old single level house. Maybe I'm confusing the name with the street. I THINK it is on Fleur de Lis Dr. The thing we went for was their "feed me" menu. You just told them that's what you wanted and they would bring out little plates of everything they had. Can anyone tell me the name of this place from the description? Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. Hmmm. Tony Angello's is on Fleur de Lis, and Fausto's starts with F and is a one story building...maybe you're conflating the two?

Yeah, it's Tony Angelo's on Fleur de Lis corner Harrison Avenue. Let me add, though, if it's been 10 years since you've been, I'd consider other options. There are much better choices, as to me, TA's has been mailing it in for a long time, the "feed me" items are the same day after day, year after year, and most are average at best.

It is Tony Angelo's. Thanks both of you for your input. I'll take your advice Sanglier and go elsewhere. I have a list of old faves to hit, Dragos, Jacques Imo's, Middendorfs, maybe Moscas, maybe Fitzgeralds out by the lake. Can you add any suggestions based on this list? Also looking for something around Frenchmen St. before heading to those clubs for a show.
