Vegetarian Restaurants with a View?

  • 6

Hi all,

A special birthday's coming up, and we're trying to find a nice vegetarian restaurant with a good view. Greens is usually our go to, but we're trying to expand out. Have been to Millennium years ago, and we all seem to enjoy Greens more than Millennium (granted we had brunch at M., and only lunch and dinners at G.). Doesn't need to be in SF, Peninsula/South Bay/Coastside fine as well. Vegetarian, vegan, as well as non-veg restaurants that are very vegetarian and/or vegan friendly all welcomed.

Any suggestions appreciated in advance!

  1. If you want to go Coastside, Cafe Gibraltar in El Granada has a (limited) view over Pillar Point Harbor. They have a wide ranging menu that always has Vegan and Vegetarian options, as well as fresh seafood and meat and poultry too.

When you look at the online menus for some reason they are listed with meat items on top, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the veg choices.

    1. Terrapin Creek in Bodega is vegetarian-friendly and has a nice view, though maybe not a water view (can't remember).

I don't know if it has a water view or not, but it's in Bodega Bay, not Bodega (which is 5 or so miles east of Bodega Bay).

      2. If you are willing to drive a little, I recommend Navio, the restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. Request a table by the water. They have a separate vegetarian menu, and it certainly feels celebratory.

If you are willing to forgo the view, Coi, La Folie, and Quince both offer outstanding vegetarian food. Fleurs de Lys also offers a vegetarian menu, but we were not impressed on our recent visit.

View aside, Encuentro in Oakland is one of the best vegetarian restaurants I've been to.

        2. Thank you so much to everyone who replied. Lovely suggestions...I have my research cut out for me!
