Small Plates, Great food for 8 people on a budget! SW/SE

  • 4

Hello all!

I've never been to Portland and I'm hosting an 8 person happy hour/pre-dinner appetizer conference-related event this Saturday night. We will all be staying at the Marriott Waterfront (SW area).

I'm looking for a restaurant with small plates/good appetizers and I'm on a budget - about $250 total without drinks. I would love to have this event at a place that is representative of Portland dining, rather than your run of the mill bar food.

Thank you for your suggestions and I'm excited to have a great weekend in Portland!!

  1. Wow, Saturday night decreases your choices, and this Sat. night might whittle down a list even more. Places I would call and check with:

    Bistro Marquee
    Veritable Quandry
    Thirst Winebar & Bistro
    Nel Centro (@ Hotel Modera)
LucLac Vietnamese Kitchen (not as close as the others)
Higgins Bar (don't know if they take reservations)

Places that are close and might have room, though not very "Portland:"

    Morton's
    McCormick & Schmick's Harborside

    Start calling NOW!! ;o)

Thank you so much for the recommendations! We got a reservation at Higgins Bar/Bistro! :) Excited to try some great Portland cuisine.

Good job erintoc! Make sure you order the charcuterie board there, it's worth the $20 price tag, especially if you are sharing in a group of folks who appreciate that kind of thing.

Will do, thanks for the rec! I'm thrilled we were able to snag a reservation
