rehearsal dinner in San Diego

Hello, my fiancé and I are looking for somewhere to have a rehearsal dinner in either Coronado or the southern San Diego area. There is so much to choose from so we were hoping for recommendations. It will be a party of around 30 people. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks all.

  1. You might want to include your price range per person, and any other particulars (private room? type of food?) you may have. That will help immensely. You'll find Coronado and places in South San Diego can vary greatly in price and what they have to offer.

    1. We had a welcome reception at located in East Village. Our group was about 100 people but more of a cocktail party format. I think the space could definitely seat 30 for a plated dinner. It's a warehouse space that you can design yourself and bring in your own caterer and bartender. We used MiHo to cater.

      1. My rehearsal dinner was a bit unusual because we had so many out of town guests, but we had ours at Cafe Coyote in Old Town. Don't get me wrong, the food is not even remotely chow worthy, but there was a private room, and the food was good enough for the guests (also, margaritas).

You might also want to look at Il Fornaio in Coronado - its a beautiful location.

        1. The price range would be preferably $25-$35 per person but just anywhere around that would work. The type of food is still up for debate.

          1. A couple of places to check on Coronado ... I have been at Vigilucci's for a private event, they did a great job for a ~60 person party. Chez Loma can use their top floor for private events, but I haven't been there in a while... They were doing some interesting things a couple of years ago with the new owner & chef, but last time I was there the menu/food was a bit underwhelming.
